An Indiana county and the promise of America’s energy future
Por Invenergy
The mission is clear: we need every drop of American-made power and the infrastructure to deliver it if we want to unleash U.S. energy dominance.
Invenergy is uniquely suited to address this challenge as America’s largest independent power producer. With more than 20 years of experience, 212 projects and 33 gigawatts over a broad-ranging portfolio including natural gas, solar, storage and transmission – we believe in adding energy solutions to meet the moment and help America avoid an electricity emergency with catastrophic national and economic security consequences.
A good example of Invenergy’s energy approach is Sullivan County in southwest Indiana. It hosts four Invenergy-developed projects:
Grain Belt Express’s East terminus, the biggest interregional transmission line in U.S. history that spans 800 miles across America’s heartland and can deliver all forms of American-made energy.
The generation projects bring Sullivan County more than 1,380 megawatts of American-made power, which is enough capacity for more than 800,000 homes and businesses. With Grain Belt Express, it also enables Americans to access affordable, reliable energy during times of peak demand or weather-related incidents that stress the grid. It's simple economics – the more energy you have to meet demand, the lower costs are for Americans.
Beyond access to affordable, reliable energy, these projects strengthen the local economy through tax revenues and landowner lease payments and create good-paying jobs. The energy-generation projects in the county will generate more than $400 million in local economic benefits, including more than 700 construction jobs and 30 permanent, good-paying jobs, and the four-state Grain Belt Express will deliver $52 billion in energy cost savings to Americans over 15 years. In addition to building these critical infrastructure and energy generation projects, Invenergy also values its long-term commitment to Sullivan County and supports various local organizations such as youth sports facilities.
Demand isn’t going away. Sullivan County is the perfect example of what’s possible for the American energy future when we unleash every drop of energy to meet growing demand and power American energy independence.
